ICF manufacturer turns to permeable pavements

The parent company of insulating concrete form brand Fox Blocks—successor to Arxx ICF and Reward Wall Systems—has acquired Houston-based TrueGrid, whose 100 percent post-consumer recycled plastic system is promoted as an alternative to permeable or pervious concrete and asphalt pavements. Airlite Plastics will add the Lego-like, grass- or gravel-bearing grid to its Sustainable Construction Products Division offerings.

“This is a great opportunity for both companies,” says CEO Brad Crosby, as each “shares the same core values while serving customers in a very specialized market niche. Airlite Plastics brings improved access to technical and financial resources. Together, the companies are more capable of serving all our clients’ needs irrespective of market sector or project size. It is a compelling combination that can significantly enhance our value proposition.”

TrueGrid joins an Airlite production network of four Canadian and 18 U.S. facilities, with combined payroll exceeding 1,000.
